Flavia is an Articling Student at St. Lawrence Barristers. She joins us upon completion of the Law Practice Program, where she gained experience during a placement at a Civil Litigation firm. She aspires to continue developing her advocacy skills.
Flavia brings extensive international experience to her legal training. A native of Uganda, Flavia earned her Bachelor of Laws Degree from Uganda Christian University, where she served in several leadership roles, including Speaker and President of the Human Rights Association. Following her studies, she advanced access-to-justice initiatives by providing legal education in rural communities in Uganda.
Flavia also pursued graduate legal studies in the United States earning her two Master of Laws Degrees. During this time, she contributed to several research initiatives, including serving as the Africa Representative in the United Nations International Law Commission initiative on the development and application of general principles of law. She also conducted research on a broad range of human rights issues while at the Urban Morgan Institute for Human Rights.
In addition to her legal pursuits, Flavia is committed to mentorship and community engagement. Through her role with the Miss Uganda Foundation as Miss Uganda East 2014, she mentors and empowers young Ugandan women.
